Direct Maximization of Protein Identifications from Tandem Mass Spectra*□S
The goal of many shotgun proteomics experiments is to determine the protein complement of a complex biological mixture. For many mixtures, most methodological approaches fall significantly short of this goal. Existing solutions to this problem typically subdivide the task into two stages: first identifying a collection of peptides with a low false discovery rate and then inferring from the pept...
متن کاملPOSITIVE AND NEGATIVE ION MASS SPECTRA OF RING - SUBSTITUTED NITROBENZENES
The 70 ev positive and negative ion mass spectra of ring-substituted nitrobenzenes were studied. The influence of the substituent group on the fragmentation modes of the molecular ions is discussed. The effect of pressure in the formation of negative ions was also studied. As expected, the ratio of fragment ions to negative molecular ions decreased with increasing pressure in ion source.
متن کاملPeptide Identification from Mixture Tandem Mass Spectra*□S
The success of high-throughput proteomics hinges on the ability of computational methods to identify peptides from tandem mass spectra (MS/MS). However, a common limitation of most peptide identification approaches is the nearly ubiquitous assumption that each MS/MS spectrum is generated from a single peptide. We propose a new computational approach for the identification of mixture spectra gen...
متن کاملModelling CDA mass spectra
We present the initial results from a simulation of ion behaviour within Cassini’s cosmic dust analyser (CDA) instrument, using an inhouse ion dynamics code. This work is to enable and enhance the detailed interpretation of dust impact ionisation mass spectra returned from the Saturnian system. Early work has already provided insights into the properties of the impact plasma in both lowand high...
متن کاملS-band Frequency Spectra
This paper presents a novel design of a microstrip patch antenna with compact nature and the study of various antenna parameters to suit the applications such as WiMax operating in the frequency range of 3.3 – 3.5 GHz and in other applications like fixed satellite services, maritime mobile services etc. covering 2 4 GHz of S-band frequency spectra. It is experimental observed that by placing st...
